The objects, installations, and drawings that have plagued me for the past few years are a strong response to the idea that we are created by bacterial entities. I am attempting to mimic the behaviors of simple life forms on Earth by mixing ideas of decomposition, emergence, and evolution with science fiction, Surrealism, and museological display. My studio practice is a spontaneous, ground-up approach to making, busy with textures, lines, and forms that are colliding, morphing, and breaking. It can resemble the view of an intestinal wall under a microscope or the scene of a tree after it has fallen. There are millions of opportunities, and countless battles for light and shadow.
