Open Studios
+ Visitor Exhibition and Benefit
Friday, November 16th, 6 - 10pm
The Master of Fine Art Program at Montclair State University will be holding an open studios night inviting the public to view what the 23 MFA candidates are creating. This night of open studios will introduce current and works in process from these emerging artists, as well as a gallery exhibition highlighting the exceptional group of visiting artists to the program.
Accompanying the event will be a small works benefit by the MFA students, faculty, and visitor artists who support the program. The proceeds will go to a departmental scholarship, which will support outstanding students in the program.
Since its inauguration the program has invited an exceptional group of artists, curators, and visiting critics to work with the students. Among such names are Mark Dion, Robert Whitman, Revd. Billy, Nick Cave, Roberta Smith, Jerry Saltz, Elizabeth Peyton, Eleanor Heartney, Arthur C. Danto, James Rosenquist, Phillip Pearlstein, William Wegman, and Dana Schutz.
Accompanying the event will be a small works benefit by the MFA students, faculty, and visitor artists who support the program. The proceeds will go to a departmental scholarship, which will support outstanding students in the program.
